Hello everyone! It's me and I'm blogging again. :D In case anyone was wondering about my temporary disappearance since three weeks ago, well I can assure you I have a perfectly valid reason for that. I was actually busy preparing for my vacation. On Dec 16, I went to South Korea with my family for a week-long holiday. I was supposed to update this blog once I came back home but I must've caught a bug somewhere because I immediately fell sick hours after arriving home. For close to 3 days I was suffering from high fever, upset stomach and constantly feeling nauseous. It took almost a week to fully recover and regain my appetite.
But I'm now back on my feet again so I will soon begin posting up blog entries on the trip. XDLabels: South Korea, trip, vacation

Codeislove now has a new layout. I've decided to go for a cutesy-sweet theme because I want to show the little girl screaming inside me. Oh scratch that. I made this layout simply because I adore cute stuff. :)
It's only been 3 months and I've already missed London so much. I miss the cold (though once you're there, you won't exactly be flapping your arms in joy and ecstasy because it's just too damn cold) and I certainly miss the environment. It's weird when you carefully think about it. Over here, in another part of the world it is just so hot and humid while over there it's freezing cold. Mind-boggling. But I love Stratford, it was such a pretty town and I truly enjoyed my time there.
Not too thrilled about Paris though. The weather was pretty much the same as in London though maybe it is slightly colder but what with the dullness of things in winter, Paris is not exactly a place I'd go to. There's just way too many pickpockets and I don't entertain the idea of having to worry over my belongings all the time.
Speaking of vacation, I'll be flying off to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this Sunday and off straight to Ipoh to visit my sister who is currently on her work attachment.
On top of all these, remember the blog interview project which I mentioned in last post? I've been compiling the interview questions and once I get everything done I'll start choosing the blogger to be interviewed soon.Labels: blog interview, new layout, trip

So it is confirmed that I will be going to Ipoh, Malaysia again in mid-March. My dad entrusts me to be my mom and aunt's guide. I'll be staying there for 6 days so in that 6 days, I'd probably won't be doing any updates so please don't worry if I don't respond to your messages/emails.
I've been wanting to sell stuff online. Thing is, I don't have anything to sell. I do have some old stuff which have never been used and still in good conditions. But I have not considered the packaging and shipping costs so I don't know if I should go for this whole online business thing. However, I've already worked on a blogshop layout which, if I ever get to carry on with this online business thingamajig, I'd probably use this layout. It's actually an old blogshop layout I designed some time ago but I've modified (that involves adding and deleting) some features so now it has a pagination feature which allows customers to navigate through the products without ever leaving the page. On an entirely different note, I seriously despise people who are going around posting religious quotes and reminders on Facebook when they're not exactly good role models for the said religion. Practice what you preach before haunting other people with your self-righteous posts. Damn these people just get on my nerves. The reason why I'm ranting about this is because lately lots of people have started doing this. They're probably nervous because December is only 10-months away now1.

My mom's planning to go to Ipoh again this coming March during the school holidays. To be honest, I'm kind of divided as to whether I want to come along or not. Half of me wants to go for the sake of experience, but the other half just wants to stay cooped at home. Another reason why I don't really want to come along is because the airfare is expensive, considering the trip will be during school holidays so it stands to reason that the fare is pretty outrageous1.
On another note, I've finally have my Lutari2 painted! It's so bleeding hard to get the paintbrush I want (Faerie Paintbrush) and I had to resort to get the help from a third-party to obtain the paintbrush.

Happy belated Christmas to those who celebrate it. This year Christmas completely has no effect on me whatsoever. This is mainly because I didn't get to decorate the Christmas tree and wrapping up gifts with my boyfriend. Plus, this country doesn't celebrate it so the festive mood just wasn't there.
I need to start packing for my next trip, which is to Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. Frankly speaking, I am not looking forward to do all this packing up again. It's such a hassle, because once I get there, I'll have to unpack the things; and I've done a lot of that when I was in UK and France (and that was only 2 weeks ago).
Regarding the domain giveaway, I will host it after I return from Malaysia. I'll have to work on the mechanisms but it will be similar to the previous giveaways, except I might add in a few requirements to this one.
I also plan to make another blogshop template. I'd probably just give it away for free downloads, or by requests. The template will include a simple shopping cart. If you need it to be customised, I can also do it for a small charge/fee.Labels: blogshop template, Christmas, giveaway, trip

Hello everyone! I'm finally back from my two-weeks escapade. I've got a few client requests in my email inbox so I need to sort those first but I'm taking this opportunity to blog here. The details of the trip can be read on my personal website @ Nekonette.com. I'm also contemplating of hosting another domain giveaway. It's only an idea and honestly I don't know if I will get down to actually doing it. But if I do, it'll probably be either after Christmas or in mid-January.
Why mid-January? This is because I will be flying off again and this time it's to Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia on the 2nd of January. I will try to write a tutorial before I leave because I certainly don't like leaving this blog empty for a long time; it breeds laziness. Seriously.

This is most certainly my last entry before I'm leaving for UK1 unless I have something really urgent to say, for which I'd simply end up editing this entry anyway.
I'm almost done with shopping for the trip and I only need to buy a few things like thermal pants and maybe a few pairs of thick socks. I probably won't be needing a hat and if it rains I'd just get an umbrella there. My dad also wants me to get a bigger bag but I'm just worried I might exceed the 20kg allowance in which case I'd have to pay bleeding BND$84 per kg of excess baggage.
Then there's also the domain giveaway that I planned to do in December. Honestly now, I don't know if I will ever the time to host it since I'd only be back in mid-December and even with that I have a few work to do for my clients. And then I shall be flying off again on the first week of January and will return to Brunei the following week. I might have to postpone the giveaway until late-January.
I'd also probably won't be able to reply to any emails or comments throughout the two weeks though I will try my best to get on the internet as often as possible. If there is anything that requires my immediate attention, please write "Urgent" in the Subject box so that I can get back to you as I can. And please, please, if you have any queries/tutorial requests, use the Contact form and not post them in the comments section. I have countless people posting questions UNRELATED to the blog posts and even though so far I've been rather lenient and responded to them, I might have to start ignoring those questions because they're not addressed to me through the proper channel. Thanks to Susan who kindly wrote a post on her blog about Codeislove. That girl is such a gem. I lurve you, Susan! :)
I haven't started packing up yet for my trip to UK and France, simply because I am too lazy to do it at the moment. For obvious reasons, I don't recommend anyone to do the same. I haven't even bought the apparels for the cold weather, but my boyfriend has promised to lend me some of his old stuff like gloves an scarves. And probably socks, too.
Another thing is that, I need to find a way how to enable Paypal withdrawal into my bank account. Thing is, Paypal is not offering withdrawal service to bank account for Brunei, well not yet anyway. This has become a constant annoyance to merchants in Brunei, particularly to the SMEs (Small-Medium Entrepreneurs) because most of them operate their businesses through online. And for me, it is such a bothersome not to have this service because I can't transfer the money I get from doing online jobs into my bank account. The only possible method is to open up a bank account in a different country and link the Paypal account to that bank account. But the problem is, I can't open up a bank account in a different country because of the hassle and the requirements that come with it. There's also another method, albeit a very risky one, that is to open up a Paypal account and put in someone else's address to the account. Then get the person to withdraw the money and have it sent to me. This someone has to be someone I know to be 100% trustworthy and won't take the money for him/herself instead. And the problem to that is, I don't have anybody to do this for me. Blergh.

Blogskins.com is once again free for signups. So for those of you who had been lamenting on how Myles (Blogskins.com owner-cum-administrator) decided to impose fees for signups as a measure to combat the ever-vigilant spammers, this is good news for you. So if you want an account on Blogskins.com, I suggest you guys sign up as soon as you can because there's no telling when Myles will change his mind again. In fact, as Myles said it, it was only an hour since he took down the payment system and spammers have gone to attack the website again. Seriously, Myles need to employ a different strategy here.
I'm currently working on a new layout for my portfolio website. I'm thinking of going for something simple yet vibrant. The problem to that is I am out of ideas on how to create it. The past week has been spent on researching for the right colour schemes (blessyouColourloversdotcom) as well as experimenting on the right template.
On top of that, I'm considering of letting go of some of my domains. In fact, I've let some of them expired already. I'm just too lazy to renew them and plus, I need to save up some dosh. However, I am keeping the primary domains: Nekonette.com, Amalina.org, Kitty-Kat.org as well as some websites which are hosted under those domains. And I've also renewed Codeislove.net and Amalinakasim.com for another year. Codeislove is due to expire in mid-December and since I won't be around the computer during that time so I might as well renew it now.
On another note, I'm confirmed to visit Peninsular Malaysia with my family (specifically to Ipoh, Perak) on the 2nd of January 2012. I'd be staying there for a week to help my sister to settle down since she will be staying in Ipoh for her work attachment for about 14 weeks.Labels: Blogskins.com, domain name, trip

Send me an email via the contact form and state clearly how you want your design to be. This includes colour scheme, layout (with or without sidebar, number of columns, etc), any extra features, etc.

I shall respond to your email within 3 (three) days. Your order will be placed into a Waiting Queue as orders are processed on a first come, first serve basis.

Payment has to be made to either by PayPal, or Moneybookers.
However, if you choose to pay via (international) bank transfer, be aware that you may be charged for the transfer service.
Other important information
Throughout the designing process, I may need to refer back to you for questions/opinions so do check your email frequently. This is to ensure the design can be done as soon as possible.
Depending on the design, your template make take up to over 1 (one) week to finish. You will be informed once the template is done.
I will send you an email requesting for the payment after the template is done. Once the payment is received, I will email you the complete template along with the necessary files.
All of my designs/templates will come with a credit section. This section must be left intact and you may not remove nor alter them. Resources that come with the designs/templates may not be redistributed or reproduced.

This website was created in January 2011 and the domain was purchased by me in late December 2010. Initially the website was intended to house tutorials for Classic Blogger/Blogspot only however over the time it has developed into what you see today.
Several of the tutorials and articles can also be found on Nekonette.com, which is the my main website where I mostly blog about my personal life. Also some of the tutorials here have been moved to that website.
