Right, I'm slightly out of focus this week and I don't really have anything to blog about except currently I'm out and about (on the internet, I mean) looking for items that I would give away as prizes in the upcoming giveaway. I'm still holding on to the book giveaway but I'm contemplating of throwing in another one as: 1) A second go giveaway (double giveaway!!) or, 2) A substitute giveaway (if in case I decide not to do the book giveaway).

As stated in the last post, I have a plan to launch a book giveaway. I have not worked on the mechanisms as yet, but I've already selected a range of books that would be given away as prizes. This giveaway will run sometime in December, most probably in the second week of the month. This giveaway will also be open internationally so anyone can join this.
Aside from the giveaway news, lately I've been too engrossed in this game - The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-Earth. I've been playing it on my iPad for about 2 weeks now. You can also play this game on your Android devices. The game is pretty addictive, especially if you join any active alliances because these alliances are all vying for the top position (I know my alliance is).

Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been extremely busy with studies. Taking Masters degree takes a toll on your mental and physical, you know? Anyway, this is simply a random update, just to let you know that I am still alive and kicking.
Also, I'm thinking of throwing a book giveaway this December, as opposed to domain giveaway (partly because I feel domain giveaway is a little old already and partly because I want to encourage more people to read books). I will work on the mechanics of the giveaway after the exams but I can tell you this much, the books that would be given away would be in English language only. Okay, other than that, I'm not sure as yet what the plan would be but I'm sure I'll be able to put some things together.
So what are your ideas on this giveaway? Will you support it if I decide to carry on with the plan?
The Petite Girlfriend is a blog shop whose owner proudly claims the layout design is hers by right despite my obvious reminder/note on the download page http://www.blogskins.com/info/365481. It is stated on that page that ripping of the layout/coding is not permitted. Apparently some people are either too dumb or visually impaired to read/see the notice.
I don't mind if it is a matter of changing the background, the header or even the positions of the content. But to remove most of the original design and only keeping some parts of it intact AND claiming it as her own is entirely unacceptable.
Anyway, I apologise to those who have been waiting for Codeislove's giveaway. I assure you that I have not forgotten about it. It's just that I have been so busy with work lately that it is hard to find the time to actually sit down and plan for the giveaway. Luckily, I already had the draft for the giveaway in hand a couple of months ago so I won't need to rip my hair out in frustration. Talk about a slice of luck, huh?
Anyway, this time it will be more than just a simple giveaway. I've decided to turn it into a contest where participants will need to complete a series of tasks (simple ones) to earn points. Participants with the top three points will be declared as winners. Pretty simple mechanisms, really.

And has anyone heard that Clive Palmer, an Australian billionaire plans to build a replica of the famous Titanic, and name it as Titanic II? I don't know if this is real or not but people have been saying that the ship is set to sail in 2016. This news definitely has caused such a popular response on Twitter and it even had become one of the trending topics. Anyway, say if this is true, I am tempted to get myself a spot on that ship. I think it'll be fun, provided it doesn't crash into anything this time. Though the tickets would probably cost a fortune, even for the third class. But come to think of it, who would want to stay in the third class section? Sharing a room that only has enough space for bunk beds and even that, you'd have to share it with a couple of people. Definitely not my kind of holiday cruise. And as a safety precaution, will someone build Carpathia II and get it to tail Titanic II throughout the journey, just in case..

Patience, the free domains will be the prize for Codeislove's fourth giveaway which will be held in May. I've already drafted the mechanisms and this giveaway should be ready by early May (that's less than a month away!).
For this giveaway, I will need loads of participations from you guys because if there's only a handful number of people joining it, it's kind of a waste, considering the amount of effort in planning and hosting it. Plus, there're nice stuff to give away so I really hope a lot of people will be interested in this giveaway.

I've been asked when the next domain giveaway will be. Honestly I can't be sure of the specific date, but it might be some time in May or June. Happy belated Christmas to those who celebrate it. This year Christmas completely has no effect on me whatsoever. This is mainly because I didn't get to decorate the Christmas tree and wrapping up gifts with my boyfriend. Plus, this country doesn't celebrate it so the festive mood just wasn't there.
I need to start packing for my next trip, which is to Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. Frankly speaking, I am not looking forward to do all this packing up again. It's such a hassle, because once I get there, I'll have to unpack the things; and I've done a lot of that when I was in UK and France (and that was only 2 weeks ago).
Regarding the domain giveaway, I will host it after I return from Malaysia. I'll have to work on the mechanisms but it will be similar to the previous giveaways, except I might add in a few requirements to this one.
I also plan to make another blogshop template. I'd probably just give it away for free downloads, or by requests. The template will include a simple shopping cart. If you need it to be customised, I can also do it for a small charge/fee.

Hello everyone! I'm finally back from my two-weeks escapade. I've got a few client requests in my email inbox so I need to sort those first but I'm taking this opportunity to blog here. The details of the trip can be read on my personal website @ Nekonette.com. I'm also contemplating of hosting another domain giveaway. It's only an idea and honestly I don't know if I will get down to actually doing it. But if I do, it'll probably be either after Christmas or in mid-January.
Why mid-January? This is because I will be flying off again and this time it's to Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia on the 2nd of January. I will try to write a tutorial before I leave because I certainly don't like leaving this blog empty for a long time; it breeds laziness. Seriously.
So to those who have inquiries, please send them in before the end of this December and I will try my best to respond to them all as swiftly as I can.
This is most certainly my last entry before I'm leaving for UK1 unless I have something really urgent to say, for which I'd simply end up editing this entry anyway.
I'm almost done with shopping for the trip and I only need to buy a few things like thermal pants and maybe a few pairs of thick socks. I probably won't be needing a hat and if it rains I'd just get an umbrella there. My dad also wants me to get a bigger bag but I'm just worried I might exceed the 20kg allowance in which case I'd have to pay bleeding BND$84 per kg of excess baggage.
Then there's also the domain giveaway that I planned to do in December. Honestly now, I don't know if I will ever the time to host it since I'd only be back in mid-December and even with that I have a few work to do for my clients. And then I shall be flying off again on the first week of January and will return to Brunei the following week. I might have to postpone the giveaway until late-January.

Fasting month is just around the corner so for Muslims out there, get your fasting gears ready! :D
I've taken up The Lord of the Rings again. It's been my favourite saga, as well as any of Tolkien's other works. I've read The Silmarillion, The Unfinished Tales and the Book of Lost Tales Part 1&2. Tolkien has changed, shaped and defined my ideas of how fantasy concepts should be laid out. I remember crying in the cinema at the end of the third (and final) movie, that's how deep the impression the book left on me.
Books always have that kind of effect on me. I suppose this is one reason why books hold a special place in my heart. Reading is my passion and I can say for certain it will remain that way. Speaking of books, I highly recommend any of Terry Pratchett books. They're so awesome. Especially the one which he co-written with Neil Gaiman: Good Omens.
So what else is there? Ah, I've finally submitted my Masters degree application form. I really hope I will get to do my Masters. I applied for Masters in Education. Not too keen about this choice, actually. I would've preferred doing Masters in a different field but since Education is my forte, it is a safer bet to choose this path.
About the giveaway, it's probably going to be held either on August 1st or August 2nd, I haven't decided just yet. Just keep on coming back! <33
One of my old clients have not contacted me regarding the design I made for her so the template is pretty much abandoned. I might decide to sell it off instead. Blah! :(

It was Leon1's birthday today and we managed to spend the a few hours together. He took us to our favourite Fish 'n' Chips eatery and it was then I gave him his birthday present. I completely forgot to take a photo of it but this is what I got for him:

I am glad to know that there are still people who are interested with the giveaway which I hosted some months ago. The good news is, there's going to be another one in a few weeks time. As promised, I will be hosting the second domain giveaway in August. As stated in the last post, I have a plan to launch a book giveaway. I have not worked on the mechanisms as yet, but I've already selected a range of books that would be given away as prizes. This giveaway will run sometime in December, most probably in the second week of the month. This giveaway will also be open internationally so anyone can join this.
Aside from the giveaway news, lately I've been too engrossed in this game - The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-Earth. I've been playing it on my iPad for about 2 weeks now. You can also play this game on your Android devices. The game is pretty addictive, especially if you join any active alliances because these alliances are all vying for the top position (I know my alliance is).

Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been extremely busy with studies. Taking Masters degree takes a toll on your mental and physical, you know? Anyway, this is simply a random update, just to let you know that I am still alive and kicking.
Also, I'm thinking of throwing a book giveaway this December, as opposed to domain giveaway (partly because I feel domain giveaway is a little old already and partly because I want to encourage more people to read books). I will work on the mechanics of the giveaway after the exams but I can tell you this much, the books that would be given away would be in English language only. Okay, other than that, I'm not sure as yet what the plan would be but I'm sure I'll be able to put some things together.
So what are your ideas on this giveaway? Will you support it if I decide to carry on with the plan?
The Petite Girlfriend is a blog shop whose owner proudly claims the layout design is hers by right despite my obvious reminder/note on the download page http://www.blogskins.com/info/365481. It is stated on that page that ripping of the layout/coding is not permitted. Apparently some people are either too dumb or visually impaired to read/see the notice.
I don't mind if it is a matter of changing the background, the header or even the positions of the content. But to remove most of the original design and only keeping some parts of it intact AND claiming it as her own is entirely unacceptable.
Anyway, I apologise to those who have been waiting for Codeislove's giveaway. I assure you that I have not forgotten about it. It's just that I have been so busy with work lately that it is hard to find the time to actually sit down and plan for the giveaway. Luckily, I already had the draft for the giveaway in hand a couple of months ago so I won't need to rip my hair out in frustration. Talk about a slice of luck, huh?
Anyway, this time it will be more than just a simple giveaway. I've decided to turn it into a contest where participants will need to complete a series of tasks (simple ones) to earn points. Participants with the top three points will be declared as winners. Pretty simple mechanisms, really.

And has anyone heard that Clive Palmer, an Australian billionaire plans to build a replica of the famous Titanic, and name it as Titanic II? I don't know if this is real or not but people have been saying that the ship is set to sail in 2016. This news definitely has caused such a popular response on Twitter and it even had become one of the trending topics. Anyway, say if this is true, I am tempted to get myself a spot on that ship. I think it'll be fun, provided it doesn't crash into anything this time. Though the tickets would probably cost a fortune, even for the third class. But come to think of it, who would want to stay in the third class section? Sharing a room that only has enough space for bunk beds and even that, you'd have to share it with a couple of people. Definitely not my kind of holiday cruise. And as a safety precaution, will someone build Carpathia II and get it to tail Titanic II throughout the journey, just in case..

Patience, the free domains will be the prize for Codeislove's fourth giveaway which will be held in May. I've already drafted the mechanisms and this giveaway should be ready by early May (that's less than a month away!).
For this giveaway, I will need loads of participations from you guys because if there's only a handful number of people joining it, it's kind of a waste, considering the amount of effort in planning and hosting it. Happy belated Christmas to those who celebrate it. This year Christmas completely has no effect on me whatsoever. This is mainly because I didn't get to decorate the Christmas tree and wrapping up gifts with my boyfriend. Plus, this country doesn't celebrate it so the festive mood just wasn't there.
I need to start packing for my next trip, which is to Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. Frankly speaking, I am not looking forward to do all this packing up again. It's such a hassle, because once I get there, I'll have to unpack the things; and I've done a lot of that when I was in UK and France (and that was only 2 weeks ago).
Regarding the domain giveaway, I will host it after I return from Malaysia. I'll have to work on the mechanisms but it will be similar to the previous giveaways, except I might add in a few requirements to this one.

Hello everyone! I'm finally back from my two-weeks escapade. I've got a few client requests in my email inbox so I need to sort those first but I'm taking this opportunity to blog here. The details of the trip can be read on my personal website @ Nekonette.com. I'm also contemplating of hosting another domain giveaway. It's only an idea and honestly I don't know if I will get down to actually doing it. But if I do, it'll probably be either after Christmas or in mid-January.
Why mid-January? This is because I will be flying off again and this time it's to Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia on the 2nd of January. I will try to write a tutorial before I leave because I certainly don't like leaving this blog empty for a long time; it breeds laziness. Seriously.
So to those who have inquiries, please send them in before the end of this December and I will try my best to respond to them all as swiftly as I can.
This is most certainly my last entry before I'm leaving for UK1 unless I have something really urgent to say, for which I'd simply end up editing this entry anyway.
I'm almost done with shopping for the trip and I only need to buy a few things like thermal pants and maybe a few pairs of thick socks. I probably won't be needing a hat and if it rains I'd just get an umbrella there. My dad also wants me to get a bigger bag but I'm just worried I might exceed the 20kg allowance in which case I'd have to pay bleeding BND$84 per kg of excess baggage.
Then there's also the domain giveaway that I planned to do in December. Honestly now, I don't know if I will ever the time to host it since I'd only be back in mid-December and even with that I have a few work to do for my clients. Fasting month is just around the corner so for Muslims out there, get your fasting gears ready! :D
I've taken up The Lord of the Rings again. It's been my favourite saga, as well as any of Tolkien's other works. I've read The Silmarillion, The Unfinished Tales and the Book of Lost Tales Part 1&2. Tolkien has changed, shaped and defined my ideas of how fantasy concepts should be laid out. I remember crying in the cinema at the end of the third (and final) movie, that's how deep the impression the book left on me.
Books always have that kind of effect on me. I suppose this is one reason why books hold a special place in my heart. Reading is my passion and I can say for certain it will remain that way. Speaking of books, I highly recommend any of Terry Pratchett books. They're so awesome. Especially the one which he co-written with Neil Gaiman: Good Omens.
So what else is there? Ah, I've finally submitted my Masters degree application form. I really hope I will get to do my Masters. I applied for Masters in Education. Not too keen about this choice, actually. I would've preferred doing Masters in a different field but since Education is my forte, it is a safer bet to choose this path.
About the giveaway, it's probably going to be held either on August 1st or August 2nd, I haven't decided just yet. Just keep on coming back! <33
One of my old clients have not contacted me regarding the design I made for her so the template is pretty much abandoned. I might decide to sell it off instead. Blah! :(

I am glad to know that there are still people who are interested with the giveaway which I hosted some months ago. The good news is, there's going to be another one in a few weeks time.
